Happy Gnu Year Zootopia!
Well, 2024 has sure been a busy year for fics and fic updating, the first full year I’ve been at it and one in which we’ve had a few fics reach the line, and a few new ones join the ranks.
And going in to the next year we have LOTS to look forward to… Probably all stored up in the last few months for some… strange and unknown reason XD. Either way, we’re expecting a splurge of new fics to start coming in with the new trailer alone, and by this time next year a whole host of new fics to join or even surpass the familiar names. (And that will mean lots of people helping us to pre-read and everything. If interested, please get in touch, I have a feeling it’s gonna be all paws on deck come November).
But that’s for the year ahead, what about the year past? Or rather, this last month. We have had a TON of fics updating, with lots of updates for you all to enjoy. And while we have no fics crossing the line, two stand out regardless. Skul’s Stained Crimson has kept up its blistering fic update schedule with five new chapters this month (with me getting well behind on it). But I think the BIG shout out needs to go to Merc’s Fire Triangle part 2 fic. For those not aware, his fic is split up into arcs (essentially mini fics) and a giant one, covering 18 chapters and close to 200K words of long desired character backstory, has just wrapped up. Other authors would have split this up into its own fic and basked in the glory of getting it over the line for 2024, so I see no reason for Merc not to get the shoutout here. Fantastic job, and keep it up! There are mysteries yet to be revealed and Fox suffering yet to be put to pen.
But congrats to all fic writers, and all fic readers too. Well done all of us, and happy new year!
