More Information from the D23 Entertainment Showcase!

As information trickles out from D23, the highlight of the night for us is the Entertainment Showcase, where Disney shows off the their upcoming projects. Beware for spoilers ahead!

Well, it wasn’t D23- it was Z23! Nick Wilde himself gave the intro here:

Of course, we start off with the parody posters, like what we got when they first announced Zootopia.

We have Captain Zootopia, Gnufasa and MooFasa, Slowki, Skeleton Shrew, Deadmule and Wolferine (why not just use an actual Wolverine I don’t know), Sealio, The Pandalorian and Grogu, Gazelle all along, and Inside Snout 2. All GLORIOUS puns.

Inside Snout 2 is particularly interesting because much like the Inside Out 2 poster, there are new characters showing up, including a tiger, a cat(?) and a gecko(?). I’ve heard rumors that the tiger is named Bob Tiger, though that is currently unconfirmed.

Next we have a little info about the movie by Ginnifer Goodwin! I’ll let her speak for herself.

This gave us the critical information that a) the snake outlaw is named Gary, and that he is being played by none other than Everything Everywhere All At Once star Ke Huy Quan!

She then introduces a preview, where Nick and Judy are on the hunt for Gary in Marsh Market, a district where the semiaquatic mammals reside.

Now we may or may not be able to keep this segment on this article up, but someone else shared the clip that followed! We don’t know who exactly, but we have the clip all the same.

OFFICIAL CLIP!

We meet the characters of Nibbles and Russ, who speak in what Gideon Grey could consider “tongues”.

For one, Chili Logs are amazing. I have no idea what this sea lion’s beef is, but for a jester he seems to need to lighten up.

That’s all we have so far, but we’ll be back tomorrow with more information! There is a Q&A with Jared Bush at 5:00pm, so expect more then!

  1. “Bob Tiger” is a reference to Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney. I really expect it’s a throwaway joke for the D23 clip, much like “Slowki” or “Deadmule and Wolferine”.

  2. What is Skeleton Shrew a reference to? Something Starwars it looks like. Pun on Skeleton Crew, but I don’t know what that is referencing…
