It is a day that will go down in Zootopia history!
On Friday, August 9th, 2024, we got our first look at Zootopia 2…a one-minute clip of Nick and Judy, searching for a fugitive snake named Gary in Zootopia’s Marsh Market district.
And the result can best be likened to a match tossed into a fireworks warehouse–a literal explosion of new fanart, based on the reveals of D23.
No kidding, folks. I haven’t seen this level of excitement in the fandom since I joined ZNN–and I’ve been at this since 2017. In the first 24 hours, we saw 30+ pics posted to the web…and they’re still coming in as I write this. In fact, there’s so much of this artwork being published that we’ve been obliged to split the Z2/D23 collection into two parts–with the second one arriving next week. Congratulations, Disney…We haven’t even seen the first teaser-trailer for Zootopia 2, and it already looks like you’ve got a mega-hit on your paws.
