Stress is something each and every one of us has to deal with in our everyday lives. The reality of work and other responsibilities can often press hard on people, no matter what line of work. That being said, most of us wouldn’t dispute the fact that Police Officer is one of the more stressful jobs out there. Between the danger, and the grim reality that often comes with addressing and dealing with crimes, it all can be pretty taxing on a person’s mental well-being.
Despite this truth, emotional support animals are something of a rarity in police forces. That is until Officer Percy “Hops” was adopted by a California Municipal police department. The rabbit serves as the unit’s emotional support animal and looks to improve the lives of the officers in the unit as well as the community at large. It may not be the bunny cop we all know and love, but it’s good to know there’s an Officer “Hops” out there doing their best to help make the world a better place.
