Hello and happy day to you, fellow fans!
Today at ZNN we shed light on a movement of production employees at Walt Disney Animation Studios to unionize. These fine hard-working men and women seek to obtain respect and recognition from their employers by joining The Animation Guild, which is a branch of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE)
In animation, many different roles and positions are included under the umbrella term “Production Worker.” Storyboard Artists, Visual Effects Artists, 3D Modelers, and the Animators themselves are only the tip of the iceberg. Unionizing promises them better work schedules and sufficient compensation for their skills.
A petition supporting many workers who hold the fate of our future sequel (and much more) in their hands is currently open here.
