The Zodiac signs are something most of us never think about. From Capricorn to Sagittarius, many of us are only familiar with the symbol that represents our Birth Date. Of course, these signs are different in Asian countries where instead of months and days, the year dictates one’s symbol.
Since this year is the year of the Rabbit, Shanghai Disney decided it was time to do a little updating to the Zodiac Garden of 12 Friends which features different characters representing the various Zodiac signs. Until recently, Thumper from Bambi represented the rabbit, but that’s all changed this year as Judy Hopps got to step up to the plate to take his spot. You did well Thumper, but it’s time for some fresh blood!
Each character is shown off in a mural and you can check them all out at WDW News Today. The art is done in the style of tiled mural mosaics and each of them has its own unique flavor and design. Odds are the Judy Hopps Mosaic is going to go with the future Zootopia-themed portion of the park so hey, one more thing to look forward to once the Zootopia area of the park is finally done! Shanghai Disney Resort came to the conclusion that the Zodiac Garden of 12 Friends, an attraction that showcases numerous characters that are meant to symbolize the twelve Zodiac signs, required some minor revisions in light of the fact that 2019 is the year of the Rabbit.
