…a year some of us would rather forget!
Hello again, Zootopia lovers! And welcome to our annual stroll down memory lane — wherein we revisit the past year’s various Art of the Day collections, (themed ones only.)
To call 2020 a rollercoaster would be the understatement of the millennium; more like a loop-coaster with a triple-twist. January saw the changing of the guard at Disney, with Bob Iger stepping down as CEO in favor of Bob Chepak…and then almost directly afterwards came the disaster of the Covid pandemic, which saw the closure of the Disney theme parks, the suspension of work on the Shanghai Disneyland Zootopia attraction, and the shuttering of movie houses everywhere — which meant no more theatrical releases from Disney for the rest of the year. 2020 was also when the Disney+ streaming channel really came into its own…and in which we received the electrifying news that a Zootopia TV series is in the works. But then, just so we wouldn’t forget what a lousy year this was, the very day Zootopia+ was announced, we learned of the passing of Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister, the unforgettable voice of Nick Wilde’s diminutive partner, Finnick.
Yes folks, it’s been one seriously crazy year…and may 2021 be a better one. In the meantime, enjoy…and don’t forget to show the original artists some love by clicking on the source-links.
