All it took was one complaint? Wow lol.
Definitely better than mixing the titles up although you don't get a sense of what was been updated but whatever adds to the mystery I guess. Not really much going on this site as it used to be… Guess artists and authors are dropping off the train or ran into fatigue.
It was more to do with the timing of the complaint. We've been putting together plans to revamp the site and make things more interesting, so that comment came at the perfect time to really motivate us to make some changes.
As for the "not much going on the site as it used to", we hope to be able to change that.
Admittedly it would take quite a bit of creativity for ZNN to keep things super-active while not repeating previous material. The fandom revolves around a single movie, not a TV show or a general subject. With very little official Zootopia material or news, this fandom relies on the fan content more than most.
It also means that fans have less official material to discuss, or get inspired by. A fandom based around a TV show might be able to repeat a poll on a per-episode basis (like "what was your favorite line from tonight's episode"), but ZNN doesn't have that luxury.
So yeah. Fatigue is definitely a potential issue. Also, we could be in a summer slump. It's easier to justify sitting inside creating content for hours when it's miserable outside.
What we need is some way to boost inspiration for visual/auditory artists, and some way to boost discussion. Right now it feels like the fandom is 90{fc17e15ed6c8f701884a899a735d4ed94fc8cfa66fc2f404dd33f42f9afeb7a1} fanfiction, which takes longer for ZNN to review, takes longer for fans to consume, and is harder to generate interaction around. (I'm working on learning 3D animation, but I'm not skilled enough to consider making fan content yet. Plus I'd want to finish my fanfic first.)
you bring up good points that's why I told them in the first place. ZNN needs more interviews with ppl in the fandom, and new stuff that is innovative and cool.
a good way to boost discussion is to get a list of new ideas for stuff znn can post, and a good way to boost inspiration is to get people interested by holding events and doing more of those spotlight and interviews.
