I’ve done some dabbling in 2-D and 3-D animation before, and I can tell you for certain, it is NOT easy. Every tiny little motion has to be just right, or else the whole thing just looks weird. 3-D is especially hard, because instead of drawing picture after picture, you’re having to move a 3-D object in a 3-D space, which you can only control from a 2-D computer screen.
Babbling aside, it’s super impressive that people are making their own 3-D animations based on Zootopia! This video in particular does a really good job with its happy movements. Combined with the cheerful music, it’s a great way to brighten up your day.
